Guide & FAQ

How to run a Twitter shadowban test

  1. Enter an X username, with or without the @.
  2. Press Check account.
  3. Read each check. Pass means X shows the account there, & fail means it doesn't.
  4. Open the listed posts & replies on X to see the evidence.

What each shadowban check tests

The account check reads whether the profile exists, is protected or is suspended. The search check looks for the account's posts in X search with from:username. It sorts the search by Latest. The suggestion check looks for the account among the accounts X suggests for its username. The reply check opens the threads of the account's recent replies. It checks if each reply shows in the thread or behind X's hidden replies prompt.

What each result means

Pass means X listed the account in that place when you ran the check. Fail means X left it out. The check then lists the posts or replies it looked for. Can't tell means X didn't answer or there was nothing to test. An account with no recent replies has nothing to test.

What the checks can't prove

Each check shows what X showed when you ran it. X doesn't say why it limits an account, so no check can name a reason.

  • X ranks replies for each viewer. A deboosted reply can still rank higher for some people.
  • X search hides protected posts from people who don't follow the account. That's why the search & reply checks can't test a protected account.
  • A result holds for the moment you ran the check. Run it again later to see a change.

Search an account's posts yourself

X (Twitter) Advanced Search lists an account's posts with from:username, sorted by Latest or Top.

Frequently asked questions

Am I shadowbanned on Twitter?

Enter your username above & press Check account. A fail on any check shows where X hides your account. It lists the posts it looked for.

What is a shadowban on X?

A shadowban is a limit X puts on an account without telling its owner. X can leave the account out of search & search suggestions. It can also hide its replies behind a prompt at the end of a thread.

Do I need an X account to check a shadowban?

No. You sign in to Xquik only. You don't connect an X account, & you can check any public username.

Can I check a protected or suspended account?

Yes. The account check shows if X suspended the account or if its owner protected it. The search & reply checks show can't tell for a protected account.
